Narrations playing over each other

Nov 28, 2012

I am fairly new to Articulate and have created a slide in Engage with three side tabs. There is narratino on the 'home' screen and narration on each of the three tabs. When, the tabs are clicked, before the 'home' narration stops, they both play. Is there a way to not allow the tabs to be clicked until the 'home' narration is complete?

Good morning Derick. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

Sorry for the delay in responding. If I understand correctly, it sounds like your first narration continues to play if the user tries to advance in the interaction, is that correct? Normally, the audio from one tab should stop playing if you advance to the next one.

Are you inserting the Engage interaction into Presenter/PowerPoint, at all or running this interaction as standalone?

Are you able to post your .intr file here, so I can take a look?

Thanks!

Yes, you are right. If the user advances to one of the tabs on the left of the engage screen the narration from that tab begins playing, while the narration from the "home" view is also playing. This is happening on two Engage screens that I have inserted into a Presenter/PowerPoint. Is there a setting I am missing? What is the .intr file?

Hi Derick,

The .intr file is the Engage Interaction file. I wasn't sure if you were making a standalone file in Quizmaker, or if you were inserting the interaction in to Presenter. If you'd like, we can take a closer look at the file for you. Please submit a support case by going to this page. Also, since you're using this interaction in Presenter, please include a Presenter Package. You can find instructions for creating a package in this article

Thanks again, Derick!
