No sound when launching presentation in LMS

Hi - hope someone can help. We have uploaded a SCORM'ed Articulate e-learning module to our Moodle LMS and whilst I have no problems viewing the entire module, from my PC (using IE8), other colleagues in my team are unable to get the slide to play on any slides with narration.
The first slide in the module is a narrated slide - and when my collegues view this slide, it says it's playing, but the little progress slider doesn't move - hence no sound.
I understand that the narrations were recorded directly into each Engage interaction via Artiuclate. Our LMS vendor has checked their end and can't see any problem there (as they can view it OK as can I). My colleagues have the latest Flash Palyer downloaded. Am I missing anything? Please help!!!!

Note - my colleagues are using IE8 also. Is the "Cipher-Strength" for IE8 of any relevance here?

The issue is not that it freezes on launch (it is just a co-incidence that it the first slide is a "narrated" slide). The issue is that any narrated slide won't play. The course launches fine, and my colleagues can view all slides and their interactions without issue except those with narration.
The first slide consists of a narrated image, then a video. If I drag the slider across to the point where the video is, that will play fine with audio. However the narrated image won't.
I also uploaded the SCORM package to SCORMcloud.com and they had the exact same issue when viewing it.
Any other suggestions?
