Website access in presentation

Apr 10, 2013

Hello,

I'd like to force my learns to log into a website and complete a set of tasks before moving on to the next slide.

How can I make this happen? I tried using the web object option but it only opens up the website.

Hi Gail,

Not quite sure how you'll be able to do this. The web object is the only way you'll be able to insert the site into your presentation and Presenter/Engage has no control over what interaction the user makes with the web site from that point - because it's not actually in the course, it's in the site that's being displayed. Presenter/Engage won't be able to restrict the course based on actions taken in a web object.

I'm not sure how you have your course set up, but you could open the site in a new window (possibly even in full screen) and have instructions on the site they view. When they reach the final page of the site, you could either have them close the window manually to return to the course, or add an option on the site (if you have access to modify the site itself) that closes the window.

I hope this helps! Good luck with the project :)

Christine
