My question slides required require two answers the first would be one of options A, B or C and the second correct answer would come from D, E and F. I would like to align the answers so that A, B and C display in a column on the left and D, E and F would display in the second column. The user would need to make a selection from the first column and one from the second before hitting submit.
Is there a way to customise the display of the choices and save as a layout?

Have you seen this option of using a Freeform Pick Many question type? I think this will help you with what you are trying to accomplish.
