Automatically advance blank slides in QuizMaker '13?

Apr 16, 2015

Is there any possible way to automatically advance blank slides in QuizMaker '13? Or if not, has anyone found a way to automatically advance out of the quiz to the next presenter slide?

This was possible in studio '09 through the use of the API. However, in the upgrade to '13 it appears the API has been removed (which quite frankly seems like a downgrade not an upgrade, since when is less functionality better?)

I figured as much, and I've done a lot of googling in search of a solution to this issue with no luck so far. So I figured I'd plant a little flag here, and see what comes about in the future.

I'm in the process of updating several courses that relied heavily on this feature. These courses leveraged quizmaker's ability to contain multiple videos (independently controlled) on a single slide then used the API to allow that slide to progress as if it was just a normal presenter slide (i.e. the user was not aware it was a quiz slide and was not required to interact with the slide). This is a feature I'm a really surprised and disappointed still hasn't made it into presenter. It's always annoying to be forced to use workarounds to achieve this type of setup. But now it appears that even work arounds aren't possible since the API has been excluded from studio '13.

We are in need of the same thing right now.

Within a Quizmaker '13 quiz, we have a 10 question graded quiz, followed by a blank slide with audio instructions and light animation. Then a Survey question.

We can't separate the graded questions and survey questions because we need the TINCAN reporting for all questions.

If anyone has any ideas, on how to advance the blank slide, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Baden, unfortunately I was not able to find any viable solution to this problem. We eventually gave up trying to automatically progress to the next slide and added a brief animation at the end of each quizmaker slide that gave the user a visual indication that they needed to click on the "next" button to progress. It definitely messes with the flow of the course, but it was the only option we really had. I'm still hoping this gets remedied, but I expect it may not. Eventually we may have to transition over to Storyline to get more automated control.
