Can I put branched slides after a fail or pass screen?

Feb 01, 2011

Hi All,

Currently, I've been writing Quizzes in this format:

1. Slide setting up quiz with instructions

2. Quiz

3. If they Fail instructions slide - branched in "properties" in presenter

4. If they Pass instructions slide - branched in "properties" in presenter

Recently, I moved Slide 1, with the quiz instructions, into Quizmaker as a blank slide. This makes the quiz template a little stronger, since it doesn't need the extra slide imported from a template PPT, and I'd like to see if all of these 4 slides could be contained inside a single quizmaker template.

So essentially, my question is could I add a blank Quizmaker slide after each Results page to replace my current PPT-based branched instruction slides?

(I do realize I could just add the instructions to the Results pages themselves, but we like the look of both the results pages and instruction slides we have going right now and I'd like to preserve that look if possible.)

Thanks!

Hi...

Is your end objective to maintain the quiz template for the instructions slides also? Then the below method might be a solution??!!

- Create two separate quizmaker files (one for 'if they fail instructions' and two for 'if they pass instructions') with a blank slide in each of them in the same template as that of the quiz

- So you will have three slides:

           1. Quiz

           2. If they fail instructions (quizmaker slide)

           3. If they pass instructions (quizmaker slide)

- Branch your quiz using properties in presenter to corresponding slides 2&3.

Not sure if this meets your end objective.. just a thought...

Thanks. I wound up redesigning the Results pages to encapsulate the information from the instructions slides. It just made more sense to keep it all in a single slide than to fan out across 4 slides. With the help of my colleagues, it looks pretty good, too.

So let me ask this, just as a point of reference:

If the student is going to fail, can I branch them to an instruction slide before the fail slide? For example, If the user fails Question Group 1 (let's say with a 3/5 score), could I branch them in Quizmaker to Question Group 3? If so, couldn't I put a blank slide in that question group with instructions and then branch them to the fail results slide from there?
