Change Font Size in Sequence Drag and Drop Graded Questions

Oct 04, 2013

I create lots of graded questions that are sequence drag and drop and matching questions. I'd really like to decrease the font size on the answer options. -- the answer and question options that get matched up or placed into sequence. It would be nice to have more question options listed on the screen without having to scroll. And, when the font size of the actual answers is larger than the question itself, it looks funny.

I have not been able to locate a way in the the Form View or the Slide View to change the font size of answers. It seems that once the answers are entered in the Form View that it becomes an uneditable text book. Is there a way to change the font size of answer options?

Here's an example of a sequence drag and drop question with the answer being larger than the question font.

Hi, everyone!

I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Build 3.80.30988.0, we've included important fixes and new features.

One fix included in this update:

  • Font sizes shrunk for sequence drop-down answers when previewed or published.

Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you need additional help!

Hi has this issue been fixed? I am using the 360 version and putting together a Drag & Match graded quiz. Where the words on the left need to match "Paragraphs" on the right. The paragraphs are hard to read and I cannot edit the size to make it readable, Is there another option to increase the size? Thanks.

Hi Cillista,

Since this thread was originally about Quizmaker and you're using Storyline 2, I'd like to start fresh. Here's an example of a Sequence Drag and Drop question in Edit Mode and in Preview Mode. Do these screenshots look different than what you're seeing?

If so, can you share your original Storyline 2 file so we can take a closer look? Thanks!

Hi there

Thought I would check in and see if any updates for this.  I was just using my first sequence drag and drop.  I have one sentence that is longer than the others, but I can tell I have the room if I could only drag the individual drop down fields longer, but I only get a cross hair symbol if I try to drag any of the individual fields longer, and if I go to the Size properties window it is all greyed out...any thoughts?

Hi Teresa!

Since there isn't a way to increase the height of the dropdown field, maybe you could redesign this slide as a freeform drag and drop! That would give you total freedom to customize the slide any way you like. Here's a quick sample of what it could look like as a drag and drop slide.

In case you want to use this slide as a jumping off point, I've attached it here.

Hi everyone,

Good news! We fixed the issue you reported where:

The font size on Sequence Drag and Drop answer choices are displayed smaller when viewed on Preview or Published output

Be sure to install the latest Storyline 360 update to take advantage of all the recent features and fixes.

If the problem happens again, please record a Peek 360 screencast for me, and I'll be happy to help or you can always work directly with our support engineers here.

Hi Victoria,

Thank you for reaching out about this issue! At this time, our team is looking into this open issue for Storyline 3. While I don't have any updates to share for Storyline 3, I appreciate you letting us know that this is affecting you. I will be bringing your comments to our team for further review, and be sure to reach back out to this discussion with any updates we can share!

Hi there,

I've run into the issue of tiny font on a sequence drag and drop.

The font size is set to 39 - same as the text in my question - see attachment "font size setting". I am using a custom screen size so need a large font.

However when slide is previewed or published the font in the drag and drop interaction is tiny - see other attachment "tiny font"

Any thoughts? I updated my Articulate 360 last week so should be up to date.
