Difficulty Saving Large Quiz Project

I am attempting to work with an extremely large quiz project that requires questions to be drawn from a huge data base.
Whenever I try to save my large quiz project, I get the message "The project file could not be saved. Your systems appears to be low on memory. Please close any other programs and try again."
Are there any suggestions or solutions for this? I have 8 GB of RAM on my computer, but would I need to add more? I know I am asking a lot of Quizmaker and of my computer. Right now, I can't save my current project after I've uploaded about 1,700 questions and the amount of questions may get as large as 3,000.
Any help or wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Please help!

Hi Dan!
What version of Quizmaker are you running? I've not seen this error reported before, but that is a large quiz. Is there no way that you could break that up a bit?
Hi Leslie,
I am using Articulate Studio '13.
My computer specifications:
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB
I would prefer not to break up the exam because what we are trying to do is create an exam that draws from a pool that can be as large as 3,000. If there is a technical limit on what we can do, then we will have to adjust. I just hope there is some sort of modification to enable the system to handle what I am asking it to do. I have tried closing every other program and just have Quizmaker running, but I still get problems with memory shortages at about the 1,200 question mark.
Hi Dan!
I'd recommend smaller file size or perhaps an alternative.

I have seen issues reported regarding performance in large files and you may run into the same issue in addition to your current struggles.
