I was so excited to show you how to hide your drop object that I didn't realize you're using Quizmaker. Quizmaker doesn't have the option to add triggers to objects like Storyline does, but hopefully someone in the community can suggest a creative alternative that'll work for you.

Hi Patty,
Thanks for your post! For each draggable item, you'll need this trigger:
Change state of Drag Item 1 to Hidden when object dropped on Drop Item 1.
I put together a quick sample file that you can use as an example. I hope this helps!
