Drop and Drag quizzes

Jun 05, 2014

I'm challenged by a Drop and Drag quiz I'm trying to create. I have 10 items that need to be categorized by dragging them to one of three bins.  I thought I could do them all on one question but I can't figure out how to make the feedback reflect correctly. Tutorial wasn't specific enough to help me.  Do I have to have each of these text boxes appear separately on a different slide?  Tried that, too, but it's not providing the right feedback.

Hi Jodi,

Are you using the Freeform Drag-and-Drop quiz? From what you described, it sounds like that may be the case. If so, this question type only allows for feedback by question and not by selection. So, the feedback you see will be for the overall question and not specific to the answers the learner dropped into the bin(s).

The option for providing feedback by choice is only available for some question types in Quizmaker '13, such as Multiple Choice, Word Bank, Pick One, Which Word, Freeform Pick One, and Freeform Hotspot.

If you'd like to see this option available for more, or all quiz types, please consider sharing your suggestion with our product development team.

I know this wasn't the answer you were hoping to hear, but I hope the information helps. You could either use a single slide for each, or possibly a different type of quiz. Also, if you have access to Storyline, you could build something like this outside of Studio.

I wish you the best of luck with your project, Jodi!

Christine
