Error when duplicating Multiple Choice Question - Original text appearing when hovering over new text (answers)

Jan 21, 2020

I was adding questions into a previously used articulate assessment and to save time formatting i was duplicating old questions and changing the q and a content in the form.  When i went to preview it, i found that when i hovered over one of the multiple choice selections, the text from the slide i duplicated appeared.  There were no triggers for change of state or hover in the triggers area and when i exited to the slide i was unable to see any layers that contained the old text that i overwrote........

unsure if this is a bug as the only way i was able to overcome it was to delete the slide and rebuild it from scratch.  doesn't happen consistently but enough to inquire about. Any ideas!?

Hi Omar,

Happy to help here!

May I ask how the slides are being duplicated? Are you copying and pasting the content or duplicating the slide?

With that said, it may help to try a repair of Storyline 360. A repair can usually fix a problem and is easy to perform. You can find the steps on how to do this here:

Please keep us posted and let us know if you have any questions!

Hi Vincent,

I ended up recreating the assessment from scratch. What I did notice (second time around!) is that the SME had sent the questions in a MS Word document and not a Powerpoint, as normal. I saved the document as a text file and then copied each question in (and answers) and this worked fine.

The course is now published.

Thanks for all of your help with this!
