Formatting Text or Numeric Entry Boxes

May 13, 2014

Hi chaps

When trying to format the text boxes in which a user would type their answer I cannot seem to get the formatting I apply to stick - it's driving me a bit nuts if I'm honest.

The default is size 12 and left aligned but sometimes I don't want that, particularly if I am trying to match it to the text that may be on the slide already.

I can change it but whatever formatting I have applied to the text disappears if i revisit that question within quizmaker and also doesn't apply itself to the quiz question either in preview or when published.

Is there a trick to this I'm missing?

Thanks

Hi Fiona,

Are you using Quizmaker '09 or '13?

In Quizmaker '13, I'm not running into the same issues. Make sure that you select the entire text box when you apply formatting.

Also, when it comes to adjusting the size, you'll want to expand the box so that the larger font size fits within the box. If you don't, it won't scale the size automatically.

You should be able to adjust the font style, color and alignment.

I'm attaching a quick example, just in case you want to take a look.

Let me know if you're using '09 instead, or if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Hi Christine

I am using quizmaker 13. I remember reading about resizing the box for the font size but the box isn't even retaining whether I have changed the font to bold or a different alignment, always defaults back to size 12 and left alignment.

So really not sure what is going on....worth reinstalling perhaps?

Thanks for your reply.

Hi Fiona!

Thanks for the video :)

I just tried this again, this time with a numeric question type and it's formatting for me as well.

The only difference I see in the steps you're taking is that I'm adding text to the box before formatting.

Here's how it looks on my end:

Can you try this out on your end, and let me know if this works for you, please?

If not, are you able to share your .quiz file here?

Thanks!
