Help!
Sep 30, 2016
I am trying to create a quiz in which the person has to answer with a long paragraph. This paragraph must match the one in the answer in order to get the score. Is there any way to have this done? Long answer questions? Have the system match the exact paragraph with the one submitted? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Christine,
The essay and short answer questions aren't set up to check what the user wrote vs. the built in answer. I don't believe there is a question type within Quizmaker that would allow you to accomplish this... perhaps you could share a bit more about your goal and what you're looking to have the user do? I could see how if they have to type that much text in, a simple missing period or something could mark them completely wrong. But perhaps that's the point?
Hopefully the community is able to weigh in and share some of their expertise here!
Yes. that is exactly what I want to do. We have templates in which they have to submit the right one (just copy/paste) then I want the system to verify if they used the proper template or not. It is a long answer so the regular in Quizmaker doesn't allow me to submit it.
Hi Christine,
I don't think you'll be able to accomplish this in Quizmaker, although I wouldn't be shocked if some folks in the community had some magic I didn't know about. You could likely do it in Storyline based on Javascript triggers or the value of a variable. Do you only have Quizmaker within Studio?
I'm rather new to storyline but I do know java so if you can help me in doing this it would be nice.
I'll have to defer to the community for Javascript as it's not something we support. But you may want to start here.
