Multiple Choice Question Exception

Apr 22, 2013

I've just installed an update and the multiple choice question throws an exception when I try to enter an answer.  Is anyone else having this issue?  Multiple answer question seems to work fine.

Good morning Jay!

Can you give a little more information about the error you're seeing? What's the exact error?

Does this happen with an existing quiz, or does this happen if you try to open an entirely new file and create a Multiple Choice question?

Also, try to make sure you're working with a local project file.

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

Thanks!

Christine,

I put the exception error data in a Case.  It's not come up since I shared the file location (see below)

All our projects are working from a local drive,

C:\Users\Jay\Documents\ACE,Inc\AVIATION HAZMAT SHIPPING COURSE MATERIALS\PPT's

The exception data indicated that access was denied to the C:\Users\Jay\AppData\Roaming\Articulate\Shared\1.0.

I went in and changed the file attributes to shared read and write. and it seems to have solved the problem.  I'm still getting an exception when I publish to the quiz to a PPTX file.  The exception indicates assess denied to  C:\Users\Jay\AppData\Roaming\Articulate

We are sorting these out one by one.  Could this be related to the update I performed yesterday?

Hi there Jay,

Thanks very much for the information!

I haven't  heard any reports of the Studio '09 update causing this. Is this the update you're referring to?

Sounds like you've been able to make some good progress. Are you able to share the case number with me, so I can take a look?

Also, are you able to export to a PPTX with a different quiz file?

Thanks!

Christine
