Play window cut in half in my LMS

May 17, 2012

I am using a new LMS "Canvas".  I am having problems with all my Articulate items that I SCORM in.  The Canvas play window is really small and half of my project gets cut off (covering all the interactive buttons students need to make if functional).  In order for students to get to the interactive buttons, they have to scroll down.  When they do that, the other half of the window is cut off.  I have a team of people at my work looking at this and they are posing the following question:

Not being familiar with Articulate suite, I’m wondering if you can locate a feature in the software that changes the scaled dimensions of the generated content. If there is, it looks like the default setting is 720 pixels wide by 540 pixels high. If we can get it to scale down to 680 x 510 we might be able to solve our problem.

hoping someone can tell me if that feature exists?

Thanks!!

OK- so on this same note... I have further questions.   Please bear in mind I am a teacher designing my own on-line materials.  I am NOT extremely comfortable with coding stuff and often lack the full understanding of how the technical end of things actually work.  That said...as I looked for solutions to this problem, I tried linking into other files and found that the "swf" file plays and seems to automatically adjust to fit the window.  It also appears to be fully functional.  Now what I need to know is from a "best practices" perspective, is there any downside to doing this?
