Possible to export Quizmaker content into Excel

Jul 23, 2013

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if there's a creative way that anybody knows of for exporting the content in an Articulate Quizmaker quiz into an Excel spreadsheet.  I'm hoping to create an Excel spreadsheet with a column for the question, column for each answer choice and a column for any feedback that is part of the question.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Sorry for the idea of "create an Excel spreadsheet with a column for the question, column for each answer choice and a column for any feedback that is part of the question. ", I have no idea. But I have a suggest for exporting the content in an Articulate Quizmaker quiz into an Excel spreadsheet, you can go to Reports -> Custom report -output in Excel, or you can refer to a certian third party Excel converter to convert the content into Excel.

Hi Kennya,

It sounds like you're interested in exporting questions in Quizmaker to an Excel file. Can you tell me more about what you're looking to do with that Excel file once it's exported?

Although Quizmaker currently doesn't have a feature that would export to Excel, I may be able to offer other ideas that will help you achieve the same end.

Hi,

Sorry for revising an old thread, but I have the same question, and I thought I would post it here to keep related questions together. I have multiple choice quizzes in Quizmaker. What I would like to do is to export the questions, possible answers, correct answer, and feedback for each question as separate columns in Excel. (that is, one column would be the question, one column would be response A, one column would be response B, etc. My reason for doing so it that it is really hard getting a Quizmaker Quiz out of Quizmaker for an alternative format (in my instance, I'm being asked to convert them to a standard Moodle quiz). The export to Word functionality seems more designed for someone to review the quiz rather than store the information in a non-Quizmaker format. Given that Quizmaker allows import from Excel (or at least I think it does), it would be nice to be able to export it to that format as well, so a user could update, delete, or add items for the creation of a new quiz.

Exporting into word is incredibly cumbersome. When having to submit quizzes for review by a third party, the only option is the word format and you barely get more than one question per page. A spreadsheet format would be so much more efficient and then users can format the output how best they need.

Back in Studio 09 days you could inspect quizmaker files using a text editor and actually copy out the quizzes into a spreadsheet. This was so useful that we did this regularly for doing mass edits of quizzes. I found this thread because I was actually looking for this function again. Sorry to see its still missing.
