Question Numbers

Dec 03, 2013

I upgraded to Presenter 13 and am creating stand-alone quizzes in Quizmaker. I am opening Quizmaker 09 quizzes with 13 and I am losing the question numbers for each question. If I have 50 questions, I want the learner to know which question they are on and how many are left.

I can't find how or where to turn this on. What is the dealio?

Hi Brett,

Sorry we missed your question!

Looks like, from this post, the closest option would be to use the "Question List" option in the Quizmaker '13 player options. This will not number the questions, but it will give learners a better idea of where they are and how many questions there are in the quiz.

Another option would be to modify the name of the question to include a number. Of course, if you're randomizing questions, this probably won't work for your project.

If you'd like to see additional options in Quizmaker '13, please let our development team know.

Again, sorry for the delay.

Thanks!

I agree.  I just recently upgraded to A13 and I'm finding a lot of things that 09 had that 13 does not, including the question numbers.  I do not understand this?  Why take features away with an upgrade?  I like the new freeform questions, but a lot of the functionality options are gone.  It's harder now, to get quizzes especially, to perform the way clients want them to.   PLEASE PUT THE NUMBERING BACK!!!  Yes, I could use the question list, but the client doesn't like it. He doesn't want them to see the question, just the number.   I could manually add a question number to each slide, but in the future if I need to add a new question or take a question out, now I have to touch every single slide to update the numbers!  It's  A LOT of extra time and work.  I'm so disappointed that this feature is gone.

Thanks for the reply.  I did submit a request to the development team.  I really hope to see this feature added back in.  For existing projects, I'm using the work around of adding the question list, but renaming all the questions to numbers and then restricting the navigation so that end users can't jump around.  My clients don't really like it, but it's the only way I can give them question numbers without adding them manually to each slide, which as already mentioned, creates additional work that is time-consuming when edits are needed.  I hate to say it, but for new projects, I'm using a different authoring tool that does provide a question numbering option.  It's not as intuitive to use as Articulate is, but until this feature is added back in, it's what I have to do.
