Quiz reporting SCORM data to the LMS

Apr 26, 2013

Hi,

We have a colleague wanting to create a quiz that will allow the user three tries to successfully pass. He has created the quiz, and has it set for the repeated attempts. However, if the user takes the quiz and fails it the first time, the course sends the 'failed' data to the LMS, which then records the test as "failed", resulting in also failing the course...without waiting to allow those repeated attempts.

I'm waiting to see the actual files, but are there settings for SCORM relating to quiz completion that would hold off sending the quiz results to the LMS until either the user passes the quiz or the three attempts have been used?

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

It may be how the LMS is interpreting the quiz attempts. Have you tested your course in SCORM Cloud? This would help us determine if the issue is Articulate related or if it's on your LMS's side. If you're using AICC content please take a look at the article below for testing information:

Articulate Support - Testing AICC content at SCORM Cloud

If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on.

If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team.

The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks!

Christine
