My quizmaker questions look fine when I am making them, but in the final quiz, they are glitchy. What I mean is, if you hover over the words with your cursor they will move. Sometimes some of the words will disappear (or reappear). How do I get the words to stay put?
Hi Patrici - I have seen this reported by others when the questions/slides are duplicated or copy/pasted. Is this how your quiz was built? If you create a new question from scratch, do you experience the same issue?
Thanks for sharing your file and allowing us to take a look Patty.
I took a look and I was able to see the behavior that you are reporting. It looks like the text boxes were set to adjust to the size of the text. So, when your answer choices are randomized - the jumpiness is happening.
I used a slide as a sample:
Your original slide is the first one and on the second one, I adjusted the size of the text boxes to fill the answer choice space width and adjusted the setting to not autofit.
Thank you for your response. I am not sure I see a difference. When I hover my cursor over the first question (in preview mode), it still causes the words to move back and forth. Is there a way to make the words stay put?
I'm sorry, I didn't realize both slides were the same. The first one was glitchy and the 2nd one was not. Please explain to me in detail how to make the change to the whole quiz.
No worries Patty - I was thinking I may have overlooked another issue.
If you compare the two in the slide view - look at the size of the text boxes around the individual answers. With the setting to adjust to the size of the text, some of the boxes have changed size.
If you expand the width back to 648px and change the formatting of the text box to do not auto-fit. That is the changes I made and you should be able to compare the two slides to see the difference. That's why I kept your original slide for my example.
How do I change the width back to 648px and change the formatting of the text box to not do auto-fit? I believe when I created the exam, I expanded the text boxes manually so that it would fit better. Mistake, I guess. How to I change it back?
I apologize Patty. If you select the text box and right click - you have options for both Size and Position (Width) and Format Shape (Do not auto-fit under Text options).
Leslie - I changed everything on the slide "Which statement concerning radioactivity is false". It is still glitchy. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Argh. I updated the slide the way you said. I have attached the updated exam.
I see that. And I went in and thought I fixed it - changing the width on each of them to 648 and lined them up on the slide so they are all equal, and changed it so that it does not auto fit...but it is still glitching. Argh! I don't know what I am doing wrong.
It's not always going to be 648 if you have the bullets/text box shifted to the right a bit. That was the case in this example. The 648 was just the example I gave for the slide I first assisted with. Really, you can use the handles on the text box and size accordingly so that they line up well. You surely do not want the contents to spill outside of the slide frame though, as then your learner cannot read the information.

The quiz was made from scratch. I did not copy and paste the questions.

Does this look more like what you are after?

The second slide as well? I'll take another look if so.

That seems to work! Thanks so much for your help!

Glad to hear it Patty! Sorry for any unnecessary confusion I may have caused, but glad that will assist you.

Hi Patty -
If you take a look at the size of the text boxes on the slide, that is what is causing the issue.
I've multi-selected them so that you can see the difference:
I see that. And I went in and thought I fixed it - changing the width on each of them to 648 and lined them up on the slide so they are all equal, and changed it so that it does not auto fit...but it is still glitching. Argh! I don't know what I am doing wrong.

I've got it now. I see what I was doing wrong and have stopped the glitch. :-) Thanks so much for your help and your patience.

Of course Patty :)
