For the most part, scoring by Question is used, and this is great for questions that have a right/wrong answer.
If you have a scenario where your user has multiple choices and maybe one answer would be better than another, but it's not wrong, then scoring by choice could be an option so that it is reflected in the final score.
By Choice: This lets you assign a different score to each answer choice. This option is only available for some question types, such as Multiple Choice, Word Bank, Freeform Pick One, and Freeform Hotspot.
