Quizmaker won't publish to Word

Jun 26, 2013

My computer was recently migrated to Windows 7 from XP and now I cannot publish a quiz file to Word. Well, it publishes, but the document is blank. First, it wants to publish in some strage place as a template (see error_2 png), and while it says the publish is successful, I get an error message: Index was out of range, etc. (see error_1 png). Changing the name, changing it a doc instead of a template, or saving it to a different location doesn't work. I just get a blank document. Can anyone help?

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Ellen!

First, please make sure that you're publishing from and to your local hard drive. I can see some of the path in the screenshot, bit it's a little difficult to read.

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

If that doesn't help, try creating a new, blank Quizmaker file. Use the import questions feature to import from the original file. Does publishing to Word work after doing this?

If you still see that error, are you able to share the .QUIZ file here? I'd be happy to take a look and see if I experience the same issue with the file on my end.

Thanks!
