Rendering Math characters

As a math teacher it is always difficult to find software that will render math characters correctly. I am attempting to use Quizmaker to write math questions. Typically I use MathType to create the mathematics and copy & past to the document I am creating. That doesn't workin Quizmaker.
I have tried creating the math items in MathType, saving them as .gif files and importing them as pictures, but this is very inefficient.
Does anyone know how I can create math questions that render the correct math symbols?

Hi Louis and welcome to Heroes!
Most mathematical symbols are available and others found that utilizing the equation editor in Word works better and then you'll insert formulas as images. You can check out this thread about the symbols and this thread about utilizing Word for assistance. I hope this helps and have a great weekend!
The downside is that using images of formulas isn't as accessible. When working in educational contexts, accessibility is extremely important.
Thanks for reaching out to share your thoughts Merisenda.
We do know that this is a common need and I'm going to add your additional thoughts to our open request as well as link this thread so that we can update you here when we can.
Could this help you guys in adding this feature ? https://katex.org/
Thanks, Fabrice! I'll include this link in the feature request filed with our team.
This is a feature we are really looking forward too. our University has a lot of technical studies that use formulas in their online lessons. Next to the need for accessible learning material this feature would also speed up the development of online courses. Now we have to build the formule in Word, make an image and put it into the rise course. When adjustment is needed I have to rebuild my formula make a new image, etc. It saves time to be able to adjust the formula directly into rise.
Thanks for sharing your experience, Geert. We currently have a feature request for equation support in Rise 360, but it isn't on the immediate roadmap. Stay tuned to our new releases - we'll let you know if it's coming soon here and in the Rise 360 forum!
Can I get Greek alphabets in Rise 360. Dealing with lots of formulae.Importing several images in any interaction in 1 go does not seem feasible.
Hi Tarangini!
It sounds like you need an equation editor in Rise 360. You're not alone, and we're tracking these feature requests!
For now, inserting an image of the equation is your best bet. I know that's not ideal, so we'll keep you posted if we add support for equations in the future!
Hi Alyssa
Do you have a timeline on a release for an equation editor?
Hi Dione!
We're looking at ways to make it easier to insert equations and formulas into Rise 360. In the meantime, the best way is to take a screenshot of the formula and insert it as an image.
Hi Alyssa, how do I insert an image in a sentence within a block? For example, I need to add the text in the attached image to the back of a flashcard.
Hi Edith,
Great question!
To apply the workflow that Alyssa mentioned to a flashcard, here is what you can do:
Please let us know if you have any questions!
Hello,
I know this conversation is 2 years old but I thought to ask anyway since there have been updates to SL 360. Has storyline 360 made any updates that allow us to use Mathjax/Latex codes or are we still required to insert images via mathtype/word? As explained in this discussion topic, the images are not accessibility/screen reader friendly.
If not, I really think this should be on your road map!
Hello Aki, and thank you for your comments!
There have been no updates as of now, but this is a current feature request. You are linked to the discussion, so we will be sure to update you if this request makes it onto our features roadmap.
