trouble publishing to iShare

Oct 14, 2013

After creating several Articulate quizzes with Quizmaker, I am trying to publish them to iShare.  In the process, I get this error message:

I realize that this may not be an Articulate problem, but wondered if you have ever heard of anyone having this type of message.  Someone on my team thinks it may have to do with the pictures that we are inserting into the quiz.  Perhaps we have too big of picture files (mostly screenshots), or just too many pictures.   Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time and expertise!

Hi Karen,

I'm not familiar with iShare - but how have you published the Quizmaker file? Follow the directions for publish to web (Quizmaker 09 directions and Quizmaker 13 directions).

You'll likely want to use one of these options to post it:

  • Zip: This creates a zipped file of your output in the location you specified on the Publish window.
  • Open Folder: This opens a file viewer where you can see the files Quizmaker just created. After you move the files to a web server, send your learners a link to the quiz.html file, so they can view your quiz. Depending on the device and browser learners use, they'll automatically get directed to the right format.

You may also want to make sure you're working with a local file:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).
