Accordion stops moving forwards

May 20, 2022

Hi there,

I've built an accordion as per the instructions in the webinars and I've found that when the user goes 2 or more forwards, then goes back to where they were at, they can no longer move forwards.

The triggers are beginning (clears content) but then won't close the accordion to then trigger the opening of the one you've clicked.

I've attached the same one (just go to the accordion slide) as I'm using in my clients project. Only change I made is swapping out their text with lorem text.

Any help figuring this out would be really appreciated otherwise I'll have to lock the navigation so they can only progress to the next one along.

I think perhaps what is happening is that after the layer timeline stops at both cue points, it comes to the end. Then when you return to that layer, it is set to decide the state, and I think it is deciding to return to saved state, so the timeline isn't reset. You might try setting all the layers to return to initial state so the timeline runs again, and comes to the end again..

FWIW, I am a huge non-fan of how long it takes after a click for any action. I also don't like that it moves all the items every time, but the delay is a deal breaker for me. I may be in too much of a hurry, but I've clicked three more places before it moves.

I'm attaching a sample that may give you some different approaches. It moves instantly and an infinite number of times. The tabs change state, if you want that. There are two different slides, presenting two philosophical approaches to how an accordion menu should act.
