When you add a new item to the existing group, it changes the group name and also replaces the existing group. This is the expected behavior of the software. After creating the new group, it can be renamed in the timeline to keep all of your items organized.
It is not replacing with a new group, rather it creates a nested group (the original group) instead a new group with the new item. I'm wondering how to add an item to an existing group.

Hi Jeni,
Good news!! There is a way to add an item to a group without regrouping and regrouping! Here are the steps!
I hope this helps you out!
This place the group and the item in a new group. I'm looking to place an item in an exiting group.

I hope that clarifies things a little more!
