Adding Text to a recoding

Jul 03, 2014

I am new to Articulate Storyline and working on a E-Learning Module.  Currently using the recoding function to creat the module on view mode.

How can I add text to the existing slides once Articulate Storyline breaks it up into slides?  I need to add a confidential disclaimer required by my legal department to all the existing slides.

Thank you

Hi Lazaro and welcome to Heroes!

If you're creating screen recordings slides that will be inserted as a step by step on each slide, you can add any other elements such as objects, shapes, text, etc. to the individual slides themselves. With step-by-step recordings, the segments are actually applied to the background of your slide.  So, you can still apply a Master slide to a step-by-step recording slide. However, keep in mind that if you have content in that Master it will appear over the recording.

For example, say you have a shape in the middle of your Master slide. If you apply that Master to the slide, that shape will appear in the middle of your recording slide and over the middle of your recording.

To enable the Master for a specific slide, right-click on the slide and select "Layout". From the drop-down menu that expands, choose the layout you'd like to use.

Thank you Ashley.  I at least now know that this is possible on slides created by step-by-step recordings.  Unfortunately, the Master layout and footnote did not apply to the slide.  I followed the steps you descirbed and the only thing that appeared are the text boxes associated with the Master slide, but not the template of the Master Slide I choose or the confidential disclaimer.  Can you help me trouble shoot?

Thanks,

Lazaro
