Adjusting Mouse Starting Point in Screen Recording

Jun 10, 2022

I'm working on a software demo with a slide by slide screen recording of the actions that need to be taken.  In one section of the recording, I need to leave the window being record, copy some text, and ten paste it into a field of the recording.

The problem is, when I leave the recording window Storyline sees my mouse leave.  When I add the mouse animation later on, the starting point is no longer in the same place as it was for the previous slide.

Is there an easy way for me to redirect Storyline so that the mouse animation starting point aligns with the previous slide?

Hi Peter,

Welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community!

Do you need to showcase the copying? If not, a workaround you could try is using a keyboard shortcut to pause the recording and then resume again.

Additionally, when inserting a cursor, you can adjust where the cursor enters from but selecting the cursor > Format tab > Enter From, and then choose the direction you would like.

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions, I'd be happy to look at your specific file here, or through a support case to investigate further.
