Is it possible to adjust timing of appearance of paragraphs in a entrance animation? By default it's coming speedy. Can we slow down the animation as per our requirement?
I saw a .story file, in which the animation time is default (00.75) and there are 5 paragraph in a single rectangle box. However the paragraphs are coming very slowly. I tried to find out the setting, unable to find how he did it. Still searching for the setting! If you find anything let me know.
On the Animations tab, in the Entrance (or Exit) Animation area, you can also choose whether or not to have the object come in all at once, or "by paragraph". Dig around, you'll find it.
It also depends on the animation that is used - some have several more options than others.
Here is a text box that has 6 paragraphs that all appear at different times. Once it is set to Enter by paragraph, go to the timeline, and expand the text box:
Then you can drag the left edge to change when each paragraph appears.
Dragging the right edge will control when they exit.
I've taken classroom training. I've asked about animations and timing, and I did not know this, Walt!!! OMG - only finding it today after searching for answers due to extreme frustration. I've read manuals, been all over this site, and never knew this.
Since learning Walt's tip (that doesn't seem to be shared in any other training that I've found), I use it daily - Walt, I hope you're listening...YOU'RE OUR HERO!!!
OMG. This is just awesome. Thanks for sharing this trick! Absolute game-changer and time-saver! Used to painstakingly separate into text boxes, bullet point by bullet point. Never again!!! :)
Please help! A lot of text boxes in this particular project aren't giving me the breakdown option. I don't know what's changed. There's just no down arrow - even when I bullet point them.
In addition to this, if you set Cue Points (see Cue Point help article here), you can right-click on the object in the timeline, and align with cue point>and select the cue #.

Edited to add: Walt, down the page a little, shares a super-cool secret!!!!! DON'T MISS IT.

I've done this a few different ways.
1) On the animations tab, increasing the duration will slow down the animation.
2) For more control, I separate each paragraph into its own text box, and adjust its timing on the timeline.
Thanks @Cheryl
I have chosen the 2nd option.

Yes I know that. I just want to know how to increase the delay time between the paragraph animation.

Hi @Walt Hamilton
You are GREAT man!
Now I am very clear about the trick.
Thank you very much!

GAME CHANGER!!!!
@Walt Hamilton - Amazing! This has bee bugging me for quite a while. So simple, but only once someone shows you how.
So glad that this conversation was able to help you out as well, Michel :) Thanks for popping in to share.
Walt, you just saved my ass and made my day. I could kiss you!!!!!!
OMG I'm so glad I found this thread. It saved me so much time. I did not want to create different text boxes. Doing the Snoopy happy dance right now!
Ha ha ha

Hi Cheryl,
It is a pretty nice feature. I just had to share an older Peek 360 video on the same topic yesterday, so you inspired me to create a new one.
Here's a quick Peek 360 video on how to Animate by Paragraph for anyone that runs across this conversation in the future.
I'll be emailing a link to that Peek video to some people on my team, thanks!
Beautifully explained! 😀

Glad this was able to help you as well, Rachelle :) Thanks for chiming in to share.

have you set the animation by paragraph?
Thank you Walt! I have also been wondering the same. Adjusting the timing in the animation never worked well.
This is awesome. I was driving myself crazy trying to figure out how to slow down each paragraph in a bulleted list. Thank you for posting this.

Thanks for popping in to share, Tiffany and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊
This could certainly help others that run across this conversation in the future.
