It's not something I'm familiar with or have the ability to support, but you may want to take a look at the page turning thread here and see if there is anything you can use from the community.
Have you considered using a wipe (from left) exit animation for the cover side page, with a wipe (from left) entrance animation for the cover? I tried this with 3 simple shapes (cover side page, right side page, and closed cover) with a somewhat cheesy result. Without seeing your "book" I cant say whether this would be an effective solution.
