Articulate Storyline Quiz on iPad
Jul 15, 2015
Long time listener, first time caller. I find this site to be extremely helpful. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find an answer to the problem I'm experiencing today.
I’ve created a Storyline presentation with a quiz that I've published to Articulate Online. I'm using the link for testing on my desktop and my iPad. It's working beautifully on my desktop. However, having problems that I've never encountered when using the iPad for this in the past.
On the iPad, two of the questions aren't allowing me to select whatever the first response option listed happens to be (and I have it on shuffle so it changes). I click on it and nothing happens...as in it doesn't show it's selected. I’ve deleted the question, recreated a new slide and published but am getting the same problem.
I have carefully reviewed the slides including the layers, triggers and the question form (one is T/F and one is multiple choice) along with 2 co-workers who have more experience than I do and we can’t figure out the problem.
I am happy to e-mail the link to the Articulate Online preview, but am not comfortable posting on a public board because of company policy. Again, it works fine on desktop but is causing problems on the iPad. I appreciate any direction you can provide.

HI, Pam, and thanks for participating in the community!
If you would like to share your file privately so we can take a closer look for you, please use this form to submit it, and your files will be reviewed confidentially.
Christie, thanks so much. I actually got a resolution last night from a trainer at Yukon Learning. She identified that somehow some of my slides were corrupt and assisted with recreating. I appreaciate the response, though. And, glad the solution has been identified.
Thank you again
Absolutely, Pam, and thanks for the update! I'm delighted to hear you are all set, and please let us know if you need anything further. :)
Ok, so it turns out I was wrong and am still having problems. However, I put in a case with articulate online and hope to get it resolved. It's the weirdest thing that's happening and I'm hoping to get some clarity later today and will post that resolution (that's how much confidence I have in this getting resolved!).
HI, Pam -- I am sorry to hear that issues persist, and I was hoping that you could provide me with your case number so I can follow along. I checked our ticketing system and was not able to locate a case under your name. You should have received an email confirmation after you submitted your case, so if feel it was submitted in error, please feel free to use this form in order to submit again.
I also encounter a problem when taking a quiz on an ipad. The quiz consists of 6 questions, but when I answering them all correctly, only one answer is actually recognized as correct. The result is that you can never pass the test on an ipad and that the feedback is wrong. What could it be? Is it something in the design of the slides? I added an image to show what I mean: the anwer is correct, but the quiz says it's wrong. By the way, on a desktop computer everything works fine.
Hi Klaas,
What update of Storyline 2 are you publishing with? The latest update is Storyline 2 Update 10.
Also, what iOS are you using to view the course? You'll want to confirm you're using a supported set up here. Have you also looked at testing the HTML5 on a desktop by using a browser such as Chrome and disabling Flash?
If you're still having difficulty with the quiz, we're happy to take a look. YOu can share here using the "add attachment" button or send along to our Support Engineers if you need to share privately.
I've tested the quiz on the 'iOS browser app' Puffin (which plays Java on an iPad) and that works fine. So HTML5 could've caused the issues. I'll do some extended testing with different versions and browsers.
Hi Klaas,
We don't support the puffin browser, so please keep us posted on the other browser and versions you're testing as well. If you'd like to share it with our team please feel free using the link I shared above.
