The directions here will walk you through how to add documents or links to the Resources tab within your Player. If you're not seeing it on the slides itself, you'll also want to make sure that the slides are not set up to have custom slide properties which don't include the resource tab.
On several past projects I added handouts via Resources as a URL. I housed the PDFs in an public employee SharePoint library so that when the handouts need updates, a simple upload to SharePoint also ensures the 6 storyline computer based modules automatically have the update.
