Audio Cuts Off

Sep 11, 2023

Hello,

I was replacing audio in a slide and it's stopped playing after about twelve seconds. I thought I'll press forward and come back to that slide later. I went to the slide I previously updated the audio on since it worked just fine and now it cuts off at twelve seconds as well--give or take a second. This is now happening on every slide--ones that I've updated and ones that I have not. Any ideas?  I have a deadline fast approaching. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Benjamin, and thanks for reaching out!

I'm happy to help solve this issue for you in a timely manner! First, I'd like to confirm if this is happening in preview mode or the published output.

Additionally, if you're comfortable sharing your file with us, I'd like to take a closer look to see what's going on. You can upload it here or privately in a support case, and we'll delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete!

Unfortunately, no I can't share this file. Well, I'll have to ask legal, but before I get there, I'm going to have a coworker attempt to open the file and see if the issue happens with him. (He just tested it. No issue for him.)

  1. It's happening in preview mode: whether it's the timeline, previewing the slide, or the Audio Editor. I have not imported my slides into a new project....yet. That's a LOT of slides. I'm trying to avoid doing that amount of work, but that is a possibility.
  2. Haven't tried the published course. I'm not going to bother since I'm updating this and need it to work in preview mode.

Since it worked for my coworker, he's going to save it under a different name and then upload it.

Hi Benjamin,

Thanks for sharing an update with us!

We'd be able to have our team sign an NDA when working with your course in a private support case. Wanted to be sure you knew you had that option!

As Kelly mentioned, it's simple to import an existing project into a brand new .story file. Here's a quick Peek where I show you an example!

Keep us posted, we'd be happy to investigate this further!
