box in the matching drop-down quiz

Nov 16, 2022

Hi,

please I would like to receive your help about this.

I don't know how to increase the height of the boxes containing the answers in the matching drop down, as in the attached image. I don't want the scroll but the text on two lines.

I'm using storyline 360.

Thank you!

Hi Cristina,

Thanks for reaching out!

The height of the drop down options can't be changed in Storyline 360. Instead, the text should automatically adjust to fit inside the available space, similar to what happened to the text in this screenshot:

Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so I can take a closer look at why the text in your drop down options didn't automatically adjust to fit the container?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

I'm guessing the project is using upgraded project text. That could make the scroll bar appear, instead of shrinking the text...

Unfortunately, I don't know if it's possible to revert a course to the old settings, which would shrink the text to fit. And even if that's possible, I'm guessing it would revert the entire course (which may or may not be desirable).

You can use the request-feature page (https://articulate.com/support/contact/feature-request ) to indicate that you'd like those drop-down boxes to be adjustable. But that doesn't guarantee they'll ever add that feature...

So, if I create a new matching drop down, how should I do to have a box without scroll?

As I said above, as far as I know, there's no way to revert to the old text formatting style. You'd have to start with a new file without upgraded text.

Keep in mind that with the old-style formatting, the text shrinks to fit the size of the text box. Those drop-down boxes have limited space, so shrunken text might get too small to read.

It might be best to consider alternate kinds of quiz questions that don't have the same kind of limits.
