I'm not sure I'm following what you're looking to set up, but the menu can be moved out of the sidebar into the top of the left hand side of the player or right hand side, and then it'll look similar to the exit tab that can be added to the player.
If I'm misunderstanding, maybe could you share a screenshot or image of what you're looking to accomplish?
