I have buttons that were rounded. The client wants square-edged buttons instead. When I go to change the button formats via their states, they re-format for a moment but then return to rounded edges.
Is this happening in any Storyline file or a particular one?

Hi there! Is it possible to change the shape of a button at all? (Not a custom button; one of the Storyline buttons). All my buttons in a course are square, and I'd like to change them to have a rounded edge, but when I select the button, there is no option to change the shape or convert it to a different type of button. When I use format painter, it changes the colors/fonts/states, but not the shape of the button. Thanks!
Thanks Katie for making this video. I was looking for a quicker solution - the format painter solution involves creating new buttons with rounded edges and then applying the other attributes of the original to each new button. I suppose I was hoping to be able to do the opposite - create one new button and apply its attributes to my existing buttons. Is that possible?
I should have been more clear - I am in fact using custom buttons, not the pre-built Storyline ones. By "not custom" I meant I used the Button maker to create them originally (as opposed to using Shapes or Images + states so an object functions like a Button). But then I did alter their attributes after creating.

Hi there, Katherine. Happy to help investigate!
A few questions to help us unlock this mystery:

Good morning, Nora!
Is it possible to change a button shape in Storyline?
Absolutely! You can do this with the format painter's help or through the Button Styles menu. I created this short video tutorial to cover the two approaches.

Hi Nora!
It sounds like a simple copy and paste will do the trick if you're looking to change the shape of the button.
Format Painter is used to change colors and fonts. You can also designate a default button! With this setting, you can add multiple buttons that will carry out the same shape, colors, and fonts. Here's a quick demo on how to set a default button using Storyline 360.
