Is there a way to disable the menu drop down in the player wrapper and have it become accessible once an object on the first slide is clicked by a user?
Hi Brian, welcome to the community. I'm not sure if this would work for you, but you can turn off the menu for a specific slide, e.g. your first slide. See here for info on Player features for specific slide.
