Hi Pamela, if the course title is a text element on the slide or in the master slide, you can hide the text from a screen reader by right clicking, selecting accessibility and then de-selecting the checkbox next to "Object is visible to accessibility tools". If the title you are referring to is the title on the HTML page, for example <title>Some title</title>, and not one on the slide, you won't be able to hide this from the screen reader.
Hi Sam,
Thanks, it was the HTML page title I was trying to hide. It's very
annoying to have to listen to the title every slide. Maybe that's something
Articulate can work on.
Thanks for your reply Sam.
No problem Pam. If it is any consolation, the feedback I have received in the past from assistive technology users is that they aren't overly concerned about this as it can be quickly skipped. I think Articulate would struggle to remove the title, as every slide is seen as a new HTML page and therefore carries the same HTML title (the course name).
Thanks Sam, I downloaded a free NVDA Screen reader to test my courses and
am curious if you could direct me to where I can find which other screen
readers that are compatible with SL3.
Thanks again for getting back to me.
Have a good one, stay safe!
Pam
It looks like Sam is providing some great help here! I just wanted to jump in to share that Storyline 3 also supports JAWS version 16 or later. You can find more details about this here:
