Can we tell Storyline to pick a number of questions from a bank?

Sep 25, 2014

Is there a way to specify that out of a bank of 50 questions, for example, Storyline just picks any 25 questions every time the student retakes the quiz?

Thanks - unfortunately I can't share my file. So I'll try to explain. I have just the one project with only 1 scene. All the slides in the scene are the questions. I have created a storybank with the 123 questions and set it so that it only pulls 50 questions. I have the placeholder that get's created. And then below are all the questions - see screenshot. So How do I "hide" the slides that have the questions in there??

Hi Gemma

once your questions are in the question bank you don't need another slide of them in the scene.  You can delete them (try one to start with so you can see that it doesn't delete it from the bank) or if you don't want to delete them you can create a new scene and place all your individual questions in there. Just remember with your result slide that only check the question bank remove all the other ticks against the individual question slides or your results will be skewed.

Shout out if this doesn't make sense.

Hi Wendy, I'm back hoping you or someone else can help.

I want to add the Next/Prev buttons to each of the slides but as I'm pulling from a question bank - the only way  I can see of doing this is by going into each slide layer - is this the case? Or is there a global place that I can add the Next/prev buttons to all slides?

Thanks

Hi Gemma!

Were you looking for a Submit All functionality vs Submit One at a Time?

By default, question slides in Articulate Storyline have a Submit button, meaning each question will be submitted one at a time for evaluation and feedback will be displayed immediately. If you want all the questions to be submitted at the same time at the end of the quiz, change the navigation controls from Submit buttons to Prev/Next buttons. Here's how.
