Can you edit all the audio at once?

Apr 09, 2013

Hello,

In Storyline, is it possible to edit all the audio at once, like in Presenter?  Or, do I have to edit each slide one at a time?

Thanks,

Jill

Hi Jill and Michael,

Can either of you tell me which type of audio you're wanting to edit? Is it audio in a screen recording, inserted audio files, recorded narration, etc.?

I'm guessing you're referring to screen recording audio, because this is the only audio that comes to mind that would be spread out across multiple slides from one source (since Storyline doesn't have a playlist feature).

If you can share some additional information, I'll try to answer your questions :)

Thanks!

Christine,

Yes, I am referring to screen recording audio.  In Presenter I could open it all at once to remove extra silence at the beginning and end of each slide.  Is there a way to do that in Storyline.  I have been doing it one slide at a time and am afraid I will miss one...especially with separate audio files on the layers.

Thanks for your help,

Jill

Good morning Jill,

Unfortunately, you won't be able to edit the audio using the same method as Presenter. With Storyline and step-by-step screen recordings, that audio is broken up among the slides (as you've noticed), but Presenter carries the audio across the slides.

You could try using the Action Fine Tuning editor to see if you can remove those bits of silence from the entire recording by editing the recording itself:

We get a lot of requests regarding audio across slides in Storyline, but this is the first time I've seen this question. If you haven't already, I'd recommend sending our development team a feature request. Please try to share as many details as possible! We take these requests seriously and appreciate the input.

Thanks Jill!
