I am creating a drag and drop quiz and I want the drop field to change state when the user drags an item onto it. I've added a hover state but this doesn't work when I am dragging an item. Does anyone know how I can do this?
hover state is only used when you hover with your mouse over an item. I think what you want is to change the state to a newly created state and change this with a trigger when the item is dropped.
Thanks for the advice but I want the state to change when the dragged item is hovered over so that the user knows this is where the item will be dropped, is that possible?
That depends on which program you use. In SL 3/360 there are new trigger actions build in where you can tell the object to change state when objects cross, but this is not available in SL 2. The only way in SL2 would be the trigger "when object is moved over" but I don´t know if this works the way you want to.
Ok so I added these triggers and it achieved what I wanted though now it allows the user to drag the fields as well as the icons. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to stop it doing this?

Hey Susi,

Great, thanks for your help Suzi, I am using SL 2 so I'll try the "when object is moved over" trigger

Why not jut used the when dragged over trigger to change the state and add an object behind to change it back.
But then I'd still be able to drag the field around the screen?
This starts the triggers and should show you what you need I have only done the top left image for the top left drop target.
There are lots of triggers to build
Oh I see...Thanks Phil, that is really helpful
Your file didn't work before because you used a dragged over state for the object, that isa state for the object being dragged.
Adding these additional triggers may break the dropback function.
