Player Properties - Storyline Player window comes up. On the right side. Preview - Storyline Player. This has the Menu box and the gray backgnd box (Yuck!)
What I would like is for my premade player to display as the default not the Storyline Player
This way my designes don't have to go here unless they need to change to the other player that I have made for them
This should be a one line fix in some XML file I belive
However, what you could do is create a "go to" Storyline file with the player you'd like to use with your projects. When you'd like to use the design for this course in another one, just open it, use the "Save As" option, safe the file with a new name and then start adding your content.
Now whether or not this would be faster than selecting a saved player design, I'm not sure. This is what I usually do for similar courses, though, so I thought I'd share the suggestion.
In the meantime, you may also want to submit a feature request for an option to select a default player template:

Hi B,
At this time, I don't believe that's possible.
