Clicking Player button opens Error Report

Hello all,

So every single time I click the Player button I get the Error Report message. I've uninstalled articulate, restated my computer and installed it again. To no avail.

I should note that when ever I open Articulate I get the Install Flash error message. BUT I have installed Flash several times. I am having a problem installing it on IE explorer specifically, but it is installed on my computer when I check in chrome or fire fox.

I'm at a loss.

  • Hello Algonquin College,

I'm happy to help you sort this out. First, let's double-check that you're using the most recent version of Storyline 360. Click the Help tab, then click About Storyline. You should see 3.10.13923.0 in the bottom-right corner.

Also, be sure you're working from your local hard drive, since working from a network or shared drive can cause problems like these.

Let me know if you're already on the latest update and working locally, and we'll keep digging!

    Hi Alyssa,

I have the exact same problem. I am working from my local hard drive, I have installed Flash and I'm also on the latest version of Storyline. The error message also appears when I click the Play symbol in the timeline (bottom left).

  • Hey Patrick and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

Sorry to hear that you've run into a similar issue. Does this happen on a particular file that you are working on or with any file/your software in general?

You may want to consider a repair to your software.

If you're still having difficulty after all of your troubleshooting, I encourage you to reach out to our support engineers here so that we can dig in a bit deeper into what may be going on.

  • Hello Sunil and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

Sorry to hear that you ran into difficulty with your project, but thanks for confirming it's a single file.

Since you mention it is only happening with this project, I would advise to import the file into a new one and proceed.

Let me know if that works for you or if we need to further troubleshoot.

  • Glad you reached out so that we can help you out with that Andrea.

Were you able to try the steps I shared above?

  • Hi everyone,

I'm struggling with this problem as well. Even when i just open a course and haven't done anything else than click the player button. I have v3.31.19951.0.

  • Hi, Noga, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! ✨

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues using Storyline 3!

My first suggestion would be to do a quick repair of Storyline. You can find the instructions here

If the repair doesn't solve the issue for you, then I'd recommend opening a support case with our engineers.
