Conditions Dilemma to Use for Next Button
Dec 27, 2013
Hello Holiday Heroes!
I have a base layer of triggers on a diagram and want the learner to view three layers before being allowed to move on with the “Next” button.
On the base layer, I have two triggers (rectangles 1, and 2) to click on to view layer 1. I have three triggers (rectangles 3, 4, and 5) to view layer 2. I have four triggers (rectangles 6, 7, 8, and 9) to view layer 3.
Problem: I am unsure how to set up the conditions in the “Next” button trigger to say:
- Any of 1 and 2 visited AND
- Any of 3, 4, and 5 visited AND
- Any of 6, 7, 8, and 9 visited
Any thoughts of brilliance?

Add a trigger to each layer's timeline that sets a Layer_xVisited variable to True. On the Next button, add conditions to the JumpToNextSlide if Layer_1Visited=True AND Layer_2Visited=True AND Layer_3Visited=True.
Hi Michael,
Thanks for the help. I did not know you could apply variables to layers. I thought they only worked on base layers. I was able to fix it and make it work with your help.
Thank you!
Rick
Thanks for the update Rick and glad Michael was able to assist you here. Happy New Year!
Hi. I'm fairly new to this.
I have a similar situation where I don't want the Next button to be visible until all the layers have been viewed. But, I don't know what order the learner will view the slides. I've tried adapting the above solution to my case, but it's not working.
I could use some more detailed help, please.
