Hopefully someone in the community will be able to pop in and assist you with this special design. In the meantime, I have seen a similar question asked previously and this thread may help you get started.
I thought of motion paths but I have to be able to have learners move it
themselves as if they were drawing a line from one object to another. Is
that possible?
I think the slider looks the best, but here's a quick mock up I did showing what you'd see with a motion path and changing the state of a hidden line.
With Storyline, there is often more than one way to accomplish the same idea. So you'll want to play around with all three options and determine which looks best for your content.
Yes, it's attached here in the discussion. You won't see attachments as a part of the ELH email notifications. Click here to visit the discussion and you'll see the file I shared.
But, this still isn't going to work as the client wants to do this as a
quiz question with 3 different point A options and 3 different point B
options. Since I have no idea how the learner will try to pair these up I
don't know where to put the sliders.
I'll come up with something else but thanks for your help. At least now I
know that "draw a line matching" is not an option with SL. It should be
though as I've had a lot of different clients ask for that.
Sorry it wasn't exactly what you were hoping for, Lynn! But, we are always curious to hear more about features you'd like to see in Storyline, and here's a bit more about how we work to prioritize feature requests.

Hello smko and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

The attached sample has some ideas you may be able to use. It sounds like you may want to make the thumbs on the sliders invisible.
Thank you so much for this help
My problem has been resolved
God bless you
I'm trying to do something like this but can't figure out how the string was added.
Hi Lynn,
The first and second slides use a slider - and that is actually the line you see. So you can only drag it in that direction.
The third slide shows a layer where the line appears as a regular object on the slide.
You may also want to look at using motion paths to have an object move along a line.

Ashley, Was there supposed to be something attached? I don't see the
mockup. Thanks. Lynn

Never mind; I found it.

You can draw lines in a canvas object.

Thanks for your time Ashley. I did submit a request as I get a fair number
of questions from clients about this type of activity. Lynn
Thanks, Lynn for taking the time to detail that for our team!
This is the idea I'm looking to create in Storyline. If it's create in Canva can it be imported to storyline and can the learner doing the dragging?
