Here is the closest thing that I could find and is exactly what I want to do, but you can't add arrows to the lines .... Under the shapes there are options for callouts at the bottom. if you make the callout itself transparent, then the line is actually three lines connected that can be moved as needed. This is not the purpose for this feature.. but the line is what I am looking for ... need arrows and endings... it is basically a single line with a couple elbows that can be manipulated. Strange that I am the only one looking for something like this (shrug). See the attachments.
Yikes! It appears that this is a much needed feature that is missing. Is there any chance that an Articulate Engineer is monitoring this forum to add new features?
Thanks, Lauren. I guess that will have to do. I was actually looking for a way to connect lines and lines to objects, much similar to what PPT does. But thanks for this... it is a good workaround. I appreciate it. Thanks!
I can second and third this. Elbow connectors do not come over into storyline well. They import as an image from PowerPoint, which makes them pretty much uneditable.
When I use the technique demonstrated above to recreate elbow connectors I run into an issue where the ends of lines and arrows just do not line up well at all as seen in the attachment.
We love hearing your feature requests because they help us understand what will be useful to you. Here's how we handle them:
First, we check if there’s already a way to do what you’re asking. If there is, we’ll let you know how.
If not, we determine will this feature meaningfully improve the experience of working with our software? Will it benefit a majority of users? If the answer is “yes!”, we bring the request to our product development team.
The development team evaluates feature requests alongside their queue of bug fixes, new features already on the roadmap, and other projects. If a new feature makes it onto the roadmap, our team tests it, and we share the news when it’s ready.
If you need help with a specific project, please share it with us here or privately in a support case and we'll be happy to take a look!
2023 and I too am in the same pickle. Our company focuses on the development of logic and flow diagrams that make extensive use of elbow connectors. The instructors who design these are all conversant in PowePoint. We translate that work into viable online training material. We spend a lot of time reworking all the slides with connectors that work.
Thanks for adding your voice to this feature request regarding elbow connectors in Storyline 360! It’s not currently on our feature roadmap, but I’ll be sure to update this discussion if our team decides to reroute.
Thanks for the update, Eric. I thought this might be the case. We just licensed SL 360. It is disheartening for our company because we use diagrams with connectors extensively.

Would a group work for you? Select them both, right click and choose group.
This makes them as one object, but doesn’t allow the two lines to be joined together.... like in a right angle.
Would motion paths work?
Not sure what that would do... that will just give a line motion, but not connect two lines.

Hi Dave!
I'm not sure I fully understand what you're looking for.
Your initial request was to connect two lines in Storyline. Have you tried using the Lines in the shape area?
Here's what it looks like:

Can this be a feature request?
Hi Jonathon,
What you're experiencing is correct, as any non-native Storyline shapes (including elbow connectors) will import as an image.

I’ll be happy to pass your thoughts on to our product team, but you can also feel free to detail them more through a feature request!
I fourth and fifth what Dave and Jonathon are requesting here! :)
Would be great to connect lines to make one object for scaling, formatting and selecting.
Two years later and it is still not there. Bumping this. And sigh.
