Copy Paste Animations

Is there an equivalent of animation painter in Storyline?

hmmm...I was planning to build all my slides in storyline itself.  But it seems like I should try another work flow in which I should build the slides in powerpoint and assign animations in powerpoint.  Its just that there are a few processes that are much better in storyline.  For example, I love the seamless audio recording and syncing animation - everything happens right there and then on the same screen...

Is animation painter something being considered to be added in the future?  Or should I submit a feature request?

I have a workaround

I have a similar need..  Unfortunately we cannot put animation into a slide master.  And there is no way at this time to copy and past an animation to another slide.  So this is what I do:

At the beginning of the scene, I create a slide (from the master) and call it "Dummy' or any other name you want.

Then put the animation you want on Dummy.

When you want to add a new slide, do NOT use the usual insert method.

  1. Instead, copy Dummy and Paste it into your scene,
  2. Then add your text, etc as usual

In reality, you are using Dummy as a Master.

You can copy and paste animations, even across different slides. It is a slightly odd process, though. These are the steps:

1. Open the animation toolbar at the top. The motion paths should now be visible.

2. Select all the motion paths you want to copy, using Shift + left click.

3. Still holding shift, select the objects that you want to copy. For example, I had twenty objects, each with a motion path. So I shift select all their motion paths, then add the objects themselves to my selection.

4. Copy your selection by pressing Control + C.

5.  Switch out of the animation toolbar. Go to the home tab, or something.

6. Go to the slide you want to paste the objects into that slide. After pasting the objects, click back to the animation tab, and you should see the motion paths.

Anyways, this worked for me. For some reason you can't paste the animations while the animations tab is open, so changing tabs fixed the problem.
