Created scene, went publish and lost file

I created a scene, went to publish, followed all instructions and it crashed and never published. Went back into Storyline 2 today to try to publish again and it says it does not recognize the file. I had originally tried to publish in my network drive and then went back in and according to the instruction manual it needed to be published to my local hard drive. I went back into the file and entered the local address into the publish file and now when I go to publish it states it can not recognize the file and has it mapped still to my network drive. Is there anyway to retrieve it or do I have to start all over?

Hello Donna,
When working with Storyline files, you will want to work from and publish to a local drive. Publishing and working on a network drive can cause issues and corruption. you may want to try importing the file into a new file and see if this helps.
I imported the file from PPTX and then worked on editing it in Storyline 2 and adding quiz questions. It was saved in Storyline and I have no file now to import it into a new file.

Hello Donna,
Is the file no longer saved to your computer? If it had become corrupted, there may not be a way to find out what caused it. If you can locate it on your network drive, we would suggest to copy it to your local drive before attempting to re open it.
I have asked our IS dept to try to retrieve it for me to my network drive. That is where the original file in Storyline was imported from. When I went to publish the completed scene, I was publishing to our local drive and the Storyline software crashed and I had to shut down completely to get out of it and then of course it was lost.

Hello Donna,
Hopefully your IT team can locate the file for you on the network drive. Please make sure to move it to your local drive before opening or importing from the file when you do receive it.
