Customized Feedback
Jun 02, 2016
Hi All!
I am a fairly new Storyline 2 user, self-taught, but learning rapidly thanks to this wonderful community. I am building a course with a ranking drag-and-drop survey which asks the user to prioritize a to-do-list. There is no right or wrong answer, but I want the user to journal as a reflection of why they ordered the tasks that way. My dilemma is that I would like to display the user's top choice and last choice on the journal screen, but I am not sure if/how this can be done. I know how to create a text variable to transfer what the user types to a different slide, but this has me stomped. Thanks in advance!

Hi Christina
if you have a partial story file built do you want to upload that - easier for someone to offer a solution if they can see and work with your setup.
Hi, Christina -- Welcome to E-Learning Heroes! And I agree with Wendy; sharing your file is the most efficient way for your fellow community members to offer project-specific advice! All you will need to do is use the grey ADD ATTACHMENT button in the bottom left of the reply box, and you can browse/upload from there!
Also, as you mentioned you are in the learning stages of SL2, I thought I'd pass along the following resources, as well:
Hope that helps! :)
Here's the attached. It's just in the beginning stages, so not polished or anything. What I would like to happen is when the user ranks the tasks on slides 1.8, 1.9, or 1.11 there will be another slide with a variable (I'm guessing that's the right lingo) that transfers the user's top choice and last choice as feedback. That's where I am stuck.
Great, Christina -- thanks for uploading your file and hopefully you will get lots of great design suggestions to pull off what you have described! I also wanted to mention that we have a design-related forum over here called Building Better Courses, and you would be welcome to post your query there, as well. :)
