Disable "Next" Button on Slide Using Markers
Jun 11, 2014
I created an FAQ slide using Markers and created a Slide Trigger with the following parameters:
Action: Adjust Variable
Variable: Slide22Complete
Operator: = assignment
Value: Value / True
When: State
On: All of Are Visited
I created a Player Trigger with the following:
Action: Jump to slide
Slide: Inserted slide to jumb to
When: User clicks
Object: Next button
On Condition: Slide22Complete == Equal to True
The "next" slide which the Learner is to see after interacting with all the Markers is a Quiz. When previewing the slide with the markers, it works perfectly. When previewing project, the user is able to advance to the Quiz without interacting with all markers. Any suggestions on how I can make this work? Do markers have to be setup individually vs. setting the condition that the slide has to be complete?

Hi Jesse,
This all sounds right - and you're changing the value of your variable based on your marker's state? Did you set up visited states for them (they're not included automatically like buttons)? The visited state indicates that the user clicked on it. Did you also check when initially setting up your variable that you didn't set the value to true to start?
It may help if we're able to see those two slides and how it behaves, as triggers and their order are crucial but difficult to diagnose sight unseen.
Hi Ashley - I did set up the visited states and the initial variable is set to False. How do I submit the slides to you for viewing?
Sure Jesse - you can share your file here using the paper clip icon, and there is around a 20 mb limit for files in the forums, so you could strip it down to just a few slides. I'll also send you directions on how to share it with me privately too.
