Hi Bruce, there are a couple of ways you can do this in Storyline.
You can attach a document as a resource that is accessible via the Resouce tab on the player or you can create a hyperlink on a slide and specify the file name to the document.
When you publish your course, storyline places these documents in a folder call external_files within the publish story_content foldr.
